When JD:E started out back in late 2005, we assumed that since video podcasts were such a new phenomenon, we'd almost instantly become a featured podcast on the iTunes page by default, thereby catapulting us into the realms of Internet superstardom...

Well, that kind of success just wasn't in the cards for us. But we soldiered on, and have since produced a whole bunch of lightly watched episodes and sold literally a dozen DVD sets. Needless to say, all expectations were exceeded, at least a dozen times over.

But at some point last week, we finally realized our initial vision for JD:E when we were featured in the Podcasts section of both the Canadian and American iTunes Music Stores, which is pretty neat. If you've arrived on this page through our link on iTunes, congratulations for making what is likely one of the smartest decisions you've made in recent weeks.

Particularly hilarious about the whole thing is our placement on the main iTunes page in the "What We're Watching" pane. I'm pretty sure it's the first time we've ever been lumped in the same category as Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Kindergarten Cop, so it's obviously a pretty big honour.

Thanks, iTunes! Thanks also to iTunes user ananym who, in his review of the podcast, raved that JD:E was "somewhat amusing."

So yes, we're still on BiteTV, new episodes are still on the way, and most excitingly, our upcoming sixth exciting season will be shot in high definition. It certainly is an exciting time for you, the JD:E viewer, no?

As you may have noticed, the final episode of the exciting fourth season of Jim Dupree: Enthusiast has finally seen the light of day, mere months after it was due to be posted.

Believe it or not, an exciting fifth season, consisting of 10 brand spanking new (exciting) episodes, will be beginning very soon, and believe it or not, there will be absolutely no regular schedule or any form of timeline whatsoever. That's right! The next exciting episode could appear at any second!

* - Or Wednesday night, depending on how you think of it...

Bite can be found on channel 322, if you're a Rogers user, and channel 530, if you're with Bell. If you use something else, you'd best check the table over here.

Jim Dupree: Mr. Multiplatform

As you may have already noticed, the final episode of Jim Dupree's exciting fourth season has still yet to appear, many months after Fibonacci would have intended it. But there is good news around the corner (if you, in fact, still give a crap about the show)...

After over a year of preparations and dealings and meaningful pauses, we have finally finalized our return to BiteTV, with an exciting second season containing 30 episodes, 10 of which have never been seen by human eyes before.

But what does this mean for you, the loyal Internet viewer?

It means that the final episode for the fourth podcast season will be posted within weeks, and a entirely new fifth exciting season will be starting in early 2009! No joke! We're getting paid to do this!

So for those of you following along, the last episode of Season 4 has been very delayed, and will continue to be, just for a bit.

In the meantime, Jim Dupree: Ghost Enthusiast is "in competition" at this year's Portable Film Festival, an online "film festival" of sorts, so why not take some time to swing on over and rediscover this Season 4 classic on their site. Also, if enough people react positively to the video by voting, we might win something, I think.

Work is still being completed on the upcoming fourth season of the thrilling Jim Dupree: Enthusiast series, but in the meantime, why not check out this Washington Post article featuring Jim Dupree, the IRS spokesman for Maryland and Metropolitan Washington.

Knowing that this second Jim Dupree is out there in the world, we are left with a very controversial question: who is the world's most popular/influential Jim Dupree? It's hard to tell, but Jim Dupree: taxman currently dominates the ThinkExist Jim Dupree quotes page, so I suppose we will concede that the title is his, for the time being.

Well, now you all know that the thrilling Jim Dupree: Enthusiast series will be entering an all new thrilling fourth season on Groundhog Day 2008. Jim himself brings us the full scoop in the comments section of the episode of Canadian Podcast Buffet featuring Tristan:

You heard it here first: 12 brand-spanking new episodes of Jim Dupree: Enthusiast will begin on Groundhog Day 2008.

They will be released according to the Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89…). That is, the first episode will be available on Groundhog Day. The second episode will be available one day after that. The second, two days after that. And so on.

It’s the way Fibonacci himself would have wanted things.
