The thrilling Jim Dupree: Enthusiast podcast series is written and produced by Dan Misener (who also plays the titular Jim Dupree) and Tristan Homer (who also directs and edits, in addition to playing the usually unseen but omnipresent Glenn, the Interviewer). Starting in the Fall of 2005, and hoping to cash in on the sudden appearance of video podcasts in the iTunes Music Store, the two banded together with number three producer Patrick O’Sullivan (who also plays Gill, the Stockbroker) to convert a short film created earlier in the year by Tristan and Dan into an original podcast series. That short film was called Jim Dupree: Dog Enthusiast, and an edited version of this film went on to become the first episode in the thrilling Jim Dupree: Enthusiast podcast series. Nearly a year and 30 episodes later, the plug was pulled on the series, and Jim Dupree was long forgotten. In November of 2007, all of the classic, thrilling Jim Dupree: Enthusiast episodes resurfaced on the Internet. In February of 2008, the classic, thrilling Jim Dupree: Enthusiast returned for a classic, thrilling fourth season.
