Jim Dupree: iTunes Enthusiast

When JD:E started out back in late 2005, we assumed that since video podcasts were such a new phenomenon, we'd almost instantly become a featured podcast on the iTunes page by default, thereby catapulting us into the realms of Internet superstardom...

Well, that kind of success just wasn't in the cards for us. But we soldiered on, and have since produced a whole bunch of lightly watched episodes and sold literally a dozen DVD sets. Needless to say, all expectations were exceeded, at least a dozen times over.

But at some point last week, we finally realized our initial vision for JD:E when we were featured in the Podcasts section of both the Canadian and American iTunes Music Stores, which is pretty neat. If you've arrived on this page through our link on iTunes, congratulations for making what is likely one of the smartest decisions you've made in recent weeks.

Particularly hilarious about the whole thing is our placement on the main iTunes page in the "What We're Watching" pane. I'm pretty sure it's the first time we've ever been lumped in the same category as Gene Simmons Family Jewels and Kindergarten Cop, so it's obviously a pretty big honour.

Thanks, iTunes! Thanks also to iTunes user ananym who, in his review of the podcast, raved that JD:E was "somewhat amusing."

So yes, we're still on BiteTV, new episodes are still on the way, and most excitingly, our upcoming sixth exciting season will be shot in high definition. It certainly is an exciting time for you, the JD:E viewer, no?
